What does the hospital supply? What do I need to bring?

Depends on where you are but most hospitals will supply most of the basics for bub except clothing. So nappies, wipes, formula if you need it - if you are formula feeding most hospitals only supply aptamil so if you want something different bring that - and blankets, although it might be an idea to bring some from home that smell like you, or if you’re wanting to use a specific swaddle etc. They will also provide adult nappies for you. I’d bring a few changes of clothes - loose and comfy, slippers, snacks, and things to keep you occupied, peri bottle for afterwards, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, face wash etc. I ended up being induced and then had to stay in hospital for 4 days after he was born so ended up being there 10 days total. Plan to stay for a couple days longer even if you’re in and out (most people are only there for a couple of days) I also had a handheld fan which was a lifesaver in labour.

May depend on the hospital, but I was supplied with a yoga ball, basic linen/towels, maternity pads, and a very pathetic post-birth meal of white bread and jam 😅🥴 Brought my own peri bottle (amazing!), witch Hazel spray, ocean lamp and portable speaker for vibes, snacks and electrolytes, disposable underwear (much more comfy than the pantyhose type provided in hospital), personal toiletries, my comfy silk nightie, slippers, shower shoes - anything I could think of to make myself feel cared for and organized... Ask your midwife what your selected hospital does and doesn't offer. You've got this! 👏🏼💐
