That’s plenty. I tend to a pasta salad. That always goes down well and is filling for them
these responses are really helping thank you! i find a lot of the time, he doesn’t finish his lunch either, but sometimes if the lunchbox looks relatively big then what i’ve given him can look small because there’s still so much space 🙈 occasionally i’ll add crisps, but again that’s not something i like to do regularly, maybe occasionally as a treat but it always looks bare without a packet of something 🤣 xxx
Looks exactly like my little ones lunch at home.
Could you do more veg than fruit? This is entirely sweet, bar the cheese, which is the only comment I have. You could always do things like crackers and cream cheese, boiled egg, cooked ham or chicken etc.
@Sarah i’ve never thought of that! i’ve always just done fruit, but i could always substitute fruit for veg like carrot sticks or peppers etc, thank you i’ll defo be doing that in future! Xx
@Sinead no worries!
@Liv thanks so much that looks great! it’s so hard making packed lunches i’m enjoying all these ideas xxx
@Sinead honestly I struggle too but I just think of what she’s most likely to eat xxx
Sorry pressed the screen by accident! No one knows your child better than you, if you believe that’s enough for him then it most certainly is! Some children might eat more, some might eat less, there’ll never be a right amount xxxx
Similar to what id give my daughter at home but we would do breadsticks and cream cheese or crackers (in place of the pain au chocolate) to balance out the sweet. I'm so glad our nursery provides meals. Couldn't be bothered with the faff of this everyday.
Is it empty when he’s back home? :) x
@Natalie i work at my sons nursery and we’ve also worked/attended a nursery that provided meals and you’re so right, it’s so much easier when nurseries provide meals, this is the first place i’ve had to do packed lunches and it doesn’t get easier even though we’ve been doing it a while. these comments are super helpful for how to balance out his meals etc, i was worried about judgement but this has been full of constructive criticism which is without rudeness or judgy comments which i really appreciate! xx
@Elena thank you lovely, he’s probably likely to leave some knowing him (when it comes to nursery, i think he gets distracted chatting at lunch and then leaves some food and then eats it in the car home 🤣) when he was 10 months he would eat anything and everything, a biiiig foodie but that fizzled out when he turned 2 🥲xx
I’d replace the pain au chocolat with a sandwich or pasta or something, because otherwise it’s quite heavy on sugar. I’d also consider swapping one of the other sweet items for something savoury eg puffs, crackers

It depends on the child, my daughter would still be hungry after that, I'd also add some veg sticks or salad. I always think its better to have too much than not enough
Looks really similar to my son’s lunchboxes - I usually put in a sandwich, yoghurt, crisps, cheese string and some fruit. If I don’t put crisps in and put a packet of animal snack biscuits or something I think it doesn’t look full either 😂 I think it’s just the lunchboxes. I always think if his lunch was on a dinner tray at home it would look like looooads! X
You could do your own lunchables copy crackers, lunchmeat, cheese peices. Bread sticks and dips, pancakes, savoury muffins, pasta salad, wraps, sausages roll, rice cakes then I add fruit, crisps/biscuits and a yoghurt job done! So that looks fine
turning off comments now, thank you everyone who’s commented it’s really helped me think about what the do for his lunches, on top of every other life situation, lunches are the bane of my life 🤣 but i’ve appreciated this more than you think, i was expecting some judgy or hurtful comments as there can be a lot of that on this app but you’ve all been great, thank you 🫶🏻
Tbh I’ve packed my daughters and hers doesn’t look much different besides a butty! X
