Sex after having a episiotomy

My baby is 8 weeks old. Me and my husband have tried to have sex a couple of times from about 4 weeks. My stitches had healed within 2.5 weeks so felt I should be ready. But every time we have sex it's almost like "it" won't go in. Like my hole won't stretch... I spoke to my doctors and they said even though it looks healed it still will take time and of course they mentioned about hormones and that will have an impact on sex drive and wetness... Has anyone else had this where they just feel like their vagina won't stretch open? Any suggestions.

Yes it is normal and dont get frustrated. You should wait 3 months at least and use a lot of lube or coconut oil.

I would honestly give it way longer. I think I waited about three or four months. The healing process takes time.

I waited like 8 weeks before even trying without having episiotomy lol and I had the same feeling pretty much til I stopped breastfeeding at 2 years with my first , could finally enjoy sex again then pregnant and back to no sex drive for another 2 years with my second baby 😂 hopefully yours returns sooner than mine…

You’ll probably find it will be painful for the first month or so as well, just so you’re aware.

I waited till 3 months, same thing I was real small after and it was hard to get it in but after a couple months it will just happen. But it does hurt abit

My experience: at 3 months we tried and it was mission impossible until we tried coconut oil and a lot of patience

Thank you all so much, really appriciate it.
