If you go through the court you would get way less than that. Whatever is left over, you could put into a savings account for her future
@Alix if you use this it’ll give you the amount he would be paying you if you went through csa but he seems to be wanting to pay you a decent amount for her anyways, some dads won’t even pay that much or would he given the lowest amount to pay each month x
@Lucy agreed but I was just telling her how to look up the baseline to see if £200 was good or not.
I'd say £200 is plenty. My ex earns abit more and pays slightly more than £200. If its too little, and you need help with baby milk or other baby items, have you not applied for Healthy start card, child benefit or UC child element?
I think the minimal child alimony is to help with housing costs, heating etc (I don't think anyone would heat as much for just themselves as they do when there is a baby in the house). My ex and I used the calculator to see how much he'd pay each month, then any extra expenses were paid 50/50. This for us is swimming, baby class, a high chair, plates, cups etc. We both buy clothes so that was not an issue. Hope this helps!
@Alix thank you
@Liv thank you!!
My BD works full time with a good job and gives 170 a month, you need to make sure he is able to afford the things he needs (car, housing, food etc) and if he doesn't live independently you need to take into account that him paying too much even if he can afford it now may then stop him from being able to live alone in future as he'll be paying so much to you. Formula is 15 per tin so that's 60 a month, nappies are a max 20 a month because you can get deals (even pampers). Baby is too young for weaning so say 50 for clothes so that's 130. Any extras you won't need more than 70 so I think 200 is completely fair and way more than what most dads pay
My child's dad gives me £200 a month and has him Friday-Sunday every week xx
You could do the cms calculator to see how much he'd be due you if you were to go down that route. Use it as a guide of the minimum he should be paying you.
