Yes! I don’t where you are, I homeschool through SC and have a home school association backing me. But just start with research on the things they should be learning (if your unsure) a great resource is teachers pay teachers you can get basically everything you need free. You can also buy material. Just depends on your wishes and what you’re looking for.

We go through an online program

Yes! I homeschool our 6 yo and 4 yo as of now (we also have a 2 yo and 7 month old) Hslda is a great place to start to look at your states requirements. We use the good and the beautiful - their math and language is free to download and then you can print or not (we didn’t print for kindergarten for my oldest but we did this year for 1st grade and pre k)

I homeschool mine. Start with research. Figure out what kind of homeschool you want to have. It’s not one size fits all. There are several styles. Then, figure out what is important to you and your family. I’m a former ELA teacher, so reading is a big deal in my family and my homeschool. As a former teacher, our homeschool is pretty traditional. But I have friends whose homeschool is more along the lines of unschooling (please do research on what this is before deciding it’s for you. It’s way more work if you do it right). There are a lot of open and go curriculums. Many have placement tests. Also do research into what your state requires of homeschooling families. Some require lesson plans, some don’t have regulations at all. I love The Well-Trained Mind by Susan and Jesse Bauer as a homeschool guide. It’s basically a how-to if you plan on doing classical education with your kids. I know starting is overwhelming, but take it a little at a time.

And if you are pulling from public school, do about a month of deschooling, where you do no school at all. Let the kids adjust their brains and expectations so you can start fresh.

I do!

We homeschool! We love it. I did plenty of research before we started. I found a program that I liked and had great reviews. Gotta find what’s best for your family. Good luck!

Start with research for your state guidelines. I used HSLDA website, it’ll tell you everything you need to know when starting. We use the Good & The beautiful for my 6 yrd, Christian light for my 8 yrd and morning menus for all, plus a morning menu for my 4 yrds. You’ll learn your children’s learning styles and what curriculum they can keep up with. I read “Home learning Year by year” by Rebecca Rupp and it helps get you excited for homeschooling while giving you unique ways to do things. Homeschooling is a journey but totally worth it in my opinion! We finally settled on our routine down after 2 months haha.

I homeschool and my kid loves every minute of it! I also have him enrolled in a homeschool co op near our home that he attends once a week with other homeschooled kids. My state also has a program that gives the parents a certain amount of money each year for their child that helps homeschooling families pay for school supplies/ curriculums and extra curricular activities.

I think I'm going to homeschool my daughter too. Too much violence, plus she seems to get frustrated with a public school.

Public school kindergarten wasn't fun at all. I decided to homeschool for first grade and my girl is thriving! We use connections academy. It's a little more advanced than private/public school, but with more one on one time it works itself out. Good luck!
