@Amber I’ve always wondered how babies eat it cause I’ve also only given mine purées, are they just meant to suck it? Or what happens if they take a bit off? X
I started with veg. Broccoli should be quartered to remove roundness from the stems - as with everything tbf, you don’t want anything round. The solid starts app can help with how to chop things. A lot of things you want about a finger width because they can hold it and they quickly learn how to break bits off or they just suck it! My daughter has had 78 different foods so far including steak, chicken, pork ribs, tons of veggies, oranges, strawberries and other fruit, rice and pasta. I started at 6 months ☺️
@Oliwia it just turns to mush in their mouth and these squeeze it up with their hands so its good for motor skills xx
I started by giving my lo exactly what I eat and how I eat it. Their gag reflex is very far forward, so rare that they choke this young. The earlier they teach themselves to chew the better because of gag reflex being far forward. They will gag a lot to start with, but it doesn't last for long. My LO could chew and swallow any food within a couple of days. Now he just spits out the skins out 😂
Thank you everyone ☺️xx
Download the solid starts app. It's really helpful and tells you how food needs to be served for your babies age.
I found a really ripe banana worked best - she can grab it but I know it's super soft for her. I have found that watching her eat melty sticks has helped me see she's able for more finger foods and given me some comfort. Tried soft carrots recently but don't think they were soft enough so will try again soon
