@Kalie did you get to do a vaginal birth or c section?
@Nana I dilated to 10 cm, pushed for over 2 hours but she was stuck in the birth canal so we ended up doing a c section
Oh wow! Congratulations and was the recovery process difficult for you?
My little guy was born early bc of preeclampsia. I totally understand being scared, but honestly, thinking about everything was actually scarier than going through it. Not to say it was a fun thing to go through, but if you try and take things in stride, it will all be fine. I was in the hospital for about 4 weeks, a total 2 before my induction 2 after, and my little one stayed in the hospital for about 6 weeks after he was born. They broke my water about 12 hrs before he was born but once active labor started little guy was out in three contractions, I didn't even push. He was only 3lbs, but healthy, just very small. He had some very very mild gandice that was gone in a couple days, the only reason NICU kept him for so long was because he was physically too small for a car seat, but he was fully developed other than size.
@Nyx congratulations on your boy mama🫶🏾 I just hope my delivery is as safe and quick as yours was. I won’t know anything for certain until Wednesday. I feel I’m possibly overthinking it and that things will sort themselves out. Either way I’ll be happy so long as my baby is healthy. It’s just reassuring to know that I’m not alone.
I had preeclampsia with severe features. I ended up having an emergency c-section at 32 weeks and 5 days. I had a seizure due to brain swelling as a result of the preeclampsia. In my case I had been dealing with preeclampsia symptoms since 22 weeks. He ended up spending 3 weeks in the NICU but is super healthy and growing like a weed! Since you are a little over 34 weeks now her lungs should be quite developed which is usually one of the biggest hurdles for preemies. Wishing you a safe and easy delivery!!
I had to get induced at 36+6 weeks due to both gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. My induction went really smooth
