Toddler won’t eat anything but snacks and toast!

Someone tell me I’m not going mad - my toddler (2yo in three weeks) will only feed himself snacks, toast, and yoghurt with a spoon. He will only let me feed him banana porridge and weetabix. Everything else is just a no. Mash potato, spaghetti bol, chilli, pasta, fish pie, nothing. He used to love all of these things. Today he’s not eaten anything other than some veggie straws and I’m trying to get him to have some spag bol and it’s just not working. I’ve tried TV, I’ve tried no TV. Eating with him, eating by himself. Utensils, no utensils. High chair, floor, table, lap. Me feeding him, him feeding himself. He just won’t eat anything other than the few things I’ve mentioned. He’s not poorly, he’s fine in himself and I’ve taken him to the doctors, I’ve called the health visitor and they said to wait until his 2 year review, but he’s been like this for a good few weeks now and I honestly don’t know what to do. I am terrified that he’s not eating enough and getting the nutrients and energy he needs but I can’t physically force him to eat if he just doesn’t want to. Someone please help, I just want to cry😩

Welcome to the picky stage!! He’ll start eating again when he gets a growth spurt

@Sierra oh dear! do I just keep giving him the same stuff over and over again? Or keep cooking two things every meal😩😂

My daughter was like that at 2. My doctors told me as long as they eating something that’s good. Bread or water/ bread or milk. He’ll grow out that phase but as long as something in belly it’s good.

Mines the same she dips in and out of these phases

My girl just turned 2 and she’s been in the same boat for about 4 months. Though I can get her to eat small meals of mince on rice or butter chicken. But if it was up to her she would just live off snacks all day. The only fruit she eats is bananas and rarely do we get her to eat veggies and for the most part she doesn’t care to eat any meat will litterly pick it out of her dinner
