Meal prep/batch cooking

Anyone thinking of cooking up some freezer meals for when baby arrives? I didn't do it with my first but as we have a toddler in the mix now I feel like it it'll just be easier on us all. Any ideas what we can make 😀

I would definitely reccomend it. We did this when we had our first and it was so helpful on the days you've got absolutely nothing left to give. We've just started to build up our stock, I batched up a load of lasagne last night (with a heap of hidden veg in the sauce) into foil takeaway containers so that all I have to do is peel the lid off and bung these directly in the air fryer or oven for 20 minutes. Means both us and our toddler can get a healthy nutritious meal for less than 30 seconds effort, and I can prep everything one handed! 😉

@Ellie oooh is that those foil containers with cardboard lid? Are they airfryer safe? That's a game changer 🙌 👏

That's the ones! They are, just take the cardboard lid off (that bit isn't) and bung them straight in, it's brilliant! 😁

I'm about to have my first and definitely planning on doing this. It's something we do anyway with certain meals so just going to prep more than usual. Good versatile meal prep freezer meals in my experience are things like: chilli, bolognese, dhal, curry in general is a good one. I don't eat meat so usually have lentils, beans etc in these instead which are great for freezing since they are generally pretty safe for reheating. Most of these just require cooking some rice, pasta etc on the night to go with it 😊

Interested in this!! I want to do some meal prep/batch cooking but everything I think of, I’m not sure I will want in June if it is warm!

@Serena My first baby was born in August during a heatwave and by the time the evenings came I craved comforting carby meals like lasagne etc !
