BLW

Hi! Has anyone started to give their baby finger foods yet? I'm so scared to because of choking but my 5.5 month old was crying so much he wanted some of my Yorkshire pudding yesterday after I handed a strip to him. I also then offered him a lemon slice and he loved that so I definitely want to try him with BLW. I've given him mashed and pureed food so far and it's gone well.

Solid starts has an Instagram page and app that shows you the right way to serve food safely for your babies age. Also you could see if there are any baby first aid courses in your area to give you confidence that you'd know what to do if something happened? Or you could download the British Red Cross app as that also has children's first aid which is really useful

I haven't started weaning yet but did blw with my daughter and she's an amazing eater!

Have a look at BLW page on fb. I'm terrified of my LO choking so have only stuck to purees but gave him a celery stick yesterday to help with his teeth and he just gummed it so it's given me some confidence x

I’m doing a combination. My son likes cucumber and chomps right down on it but banana he took a huge bite of and it scared me so I pureed it with a tiny bit of oat milk and spoon fed him that x

We're doing blw too 😊 he loves cucumber and broccoli but didnt enjoy carrot and yoghurt at all. As he just turned 6 months I still keep it quite simple with one/two foods and mostly boiled vegetables

Thanks all! I'm going to give it another couple weeks to give him finger foods but so scared🤣
