I've got 3 and none of them like getting their toenails clipped, never have for some reason. I usually have to just pin them down and hold their foot as still as I can, but I'll also usually bribe them with something small just to get it done. I don't do their toes as often as their fingers, but it had gotten a lil better as they've gotten a lil older.
My daughter has always been fighting whenever it's time to cut her nails. I just resort to giving her a little screentime to distract her
My daughter didn't like it at first but then I kind of put her in her place asking her if she wanted to do it herself. Once she realized she couldn't, and she made that decision on her own, it was smooth sailing. Of course every kid is different though. Good luck ❤️🙏
My daughter hated it, so I just did mine around her more. Then she wanted to get her nails done, so eventually I got her nail polish. I told her, mommy needs to cut your nails before I put nail polish on. From that point on there hasn’t been a fight. Now we do a weekly manicure/ pedicure. Lol which is just trimming nails, filing and nail polish. Anyways, long story short. I’m not sure if he’s into nail polish, but I would suggest maybe a reward system. Like he gets something, for letting you cut his nails. Maybe a treat, or a small toy! My daughter loves tickets, 🎟️we have a roll of tickets for potty training. When she gets so many tickets she can redeem it for a toy!
I had this with my first (3 babies in now). I would cut his toes when he was sleeping! No joke head light and all…During the day I would use a nail file. I’d let him do it to me and himself. Eventually he got over it and it’s not an issue now. Hopefully this helps and you find what works for him and you!
