Is my toddler acting up or is it me?

I’m pregnant, in my 2nd trimester with a toddler. I don’t know if I’m quickly irritated or my toddler’s behaviour has taken a turn for a the worst of toddlerhood but I’m slowly losing my mind! I don’t know what to do to keep him busy as he wants me stuck to him like his shadow in everything he does except screen time. I don’t really want him glued to a screen all day whilst I do things like cooking to survive. I’ve tried to get him involved in cooking but sir wants to use his stool to play with electrical’s and the cooker which sends me into a fit of anxiety, like why are you trying to hurt yourself child???

It sounds like a combination of he knows change is coming, your emotions will be all over the place because of hormones which are out of your control, and typical toddler learning by pushing boundaries. My kiddo was 21 months when his brother was born and oh boy did if feel like he knew how to push all my buttons while pregnant. Even now he demands attention when I am doing things like feeding and changing his brother. I do my best to involve him in chores and things around the house like you mentioned but it doesn't always work out. I personally think it's just the age and where they are in their learning

@Ashlee thanks for sharing, it helps knowing I’m not the only one who’s experiencing this. I’m losing my mind trying to show him how to remain calm when I’m feeling irritable but I also want to shout stop when he’s trying to turn the oven on 🫣 no one told me about how hormones will affect my parenting, I honestly though nothing would change except physical struggles😅

Oh the postpartum rage has been sooooo difficult to manage this time around! Forget telling my toddler he needs to breathe lol I have to take a step back first! Keep doing your best 🥰
