Moving to Liverpool

Hi ladies, I currently live in the south of England but my partner and I really want to move up towards Liverpool area. I’m on the council list down here and have been for a long time and still nothing has come about. What is the council like round there? Also do you know of any private landlords that accept housing benefits if we can’t get council. Thank you xx
