My daughter is 2 now, we started giving her solids for every meal at 5 months. No purees at all.

Personally I wouldn't give solids until they can sit unassisted confidently the risk of choking is so high if they can't sit unassisted I waited until he could see up probably on his own before giving solids I just gave purees until that point wasn't worth the risk. He started confidently sitting unassisted about a week n a bit after I start pouches. For me it wasn't worth the risk. But the same rules apply whether u do puree or solids at 6 months 1 meal a day at 7-8 months u can increase to 2 meals a day and 9-10 months 3 meals a day. Expect them to make a mess a messy baby is a happy baby. Do ur research on how to serve foods for the corresponding age however u will find that most solid foods advice will mostly all be on how to serve from 6 months plus x

@Willow he definitely still needs assistance sitting up lol but he’s been trying to sit up on his own, hopefully he’ll be sitting soon!!

@Willow how often did you do the purees a day? should i do that 3 times a day or only once?

@Lauralei so 1 70g pouch counts as 1 meal so I give him 1 pouch at lunch time. But seen as ur baby is only 5 months I wouldn't give more then half a pouch u don't want to give them to much and the they drink less milk, milk intake should continue to increase as they get older despite eating food x
