No one says my baby looks like me?

Hi! Two mama household here, baby girl is from my egg. All of her family keep saying how baby looks like my wife and how cool. A part of me appreciates this as I want her to feel seen in our child, but no one has ever said baby looks like me? Am I overreacting?

No, you're not overreacting. I see it happen in lots of cis-hetero relationships where moms express that the father's side always says baby looks like his side. In her family's defense, they don't know what you looked like as a baby/child and if you got a donor with similar features as your wife it might be easier to catch their similarities than yours right now. I feel your frustration. When I'm out at the park I'm often mistaken as our baby's nanny and my wife is assumed to be the birthparent 🤣😭❤️

I think people like to tell the non-bio parents that. I heard it a lot too, but our daughter looks just like my wife’s paternal grandfather. Your baby probably looks more like you, but people are emphasizing their similarities to show love and family bonding.
