@Kate 6 months x
She may not be ready. They say from 6 months and showing an interest in food as some of the readiness markers. My daughter was literally reaching for and trying to take my food by 6 months so we started straight away but some babies don't take enough interest until closer to 7 months and that's okay. Even when she did start having some it will be such small amounts that she actually swallows. If she's showing more interest in your food than hers perhaps try something you both can eat and share a bit of mash potato or something from your plate so she knows it's mummy's food. Another thing you coukd try is one if those teether feeders. You can out either frozen breast milk in for teething or things like berries work great, blackberries were one if the first things my baby actually really really liked and I think liking something helps keep interest too
So my LG was the same, then one day, she down a whole bowl of porridge & we've never looked back. The first 2/3 weeks they're confused by the new textures and flavours, it's a lot for them. It'll get so much better, just persevere and remember, right now, all you're doing is introducing her to new textures and flavours. If it's gone on her tongue, it's a success.
Feel free to message me, if you want any advice or encouragement mumma. You're doing great, DW ❣️
My girl was the same, she didn’t want it at 6 months. We’re at 11 months now and she’s only just wanting it so just wait it out x
How old is she? X
