starting solids

what did you give your baby to actually start big solids? my daughter is almost 7 months old and is pretty good at the purées now (thick or runny), and can handle fruits like strawberries that are mashed but still chucky. whats the next step to introduce more into baby led weaning type things? i’m gonna try thickly sliced apples today but thats my only idea 😅 im just super nervous she’ll start to choke and i wont know how to help her

I believe there’s an app “starting solids” but go easy like Cheerios or Puffs at first, babies love blueberries!

@Erin i’ll definitely look into that app! im worried about starting with small things cause i dont think shes gotten chewing down yet so i dont want her to swallow a blueberry whole 😅

My third child just turned 6 months old and I just give him what we eat. Maybe google baby-led weaning. I did baby-led weaning with other children and it was a nice experience

Eggs - made an omelette and cut into strips she could hold

Solid starts is a great resource. I worked on trying 100 foods before the age of 1. So literally every day I was trying my baby on different foods, baby led weaning is messy but so fun
