Yeah I’ve tried simple stuff, she won’t take anything from a spoon, with me feeding her or her doing it herself. I feel like I’ve tried everything.
Try a different chair maybe? We have a bumbo seat that comes with the activity tray you can remove. So I use this for her to play and then remove for her to eat. We got her a highchair and for some reason she does not like sitting in it, but she will happily sit in her bumbo and have some food. May not make any difference but just an idea x
@Robyn thank you for the suggestion, we have already bought a new high chair because the other one seemed too big, didn’t seem to make a difference to be honest, We have a bumbo chair too, tonight it was a no go all round. 🤯
Could you hold her and let her explore the food herself? No pressure to eat it, but kind of do a sensory playtime with it? And all the utensils like just let her play with a spoon or a bowl etc?
Hi Katie, we’re in the exact same situation. My little one doesn’t even want to look at the food, and he completely refuses anything we give him. He doesn’t even want to try it. I know at this age its not about how much they eat, but more about getting them curious to try nee textured/ tastes, but still… I was thinking of taking a few days break to hopefully give him a bit of a reset and hope that works.
Maybe put baby’s food on your plate instead? Sit them in their chair for mealtime, maybe put something in front of them but some on a plate in front of you and for you to nibble on. I’ve found babies are always more interested in stealing what other people are eating! My first went through a phase of refusing everything at around 7 months for a few weeks. It was just a phase and she got back into it. She eats plenty now and accepts a good variety of foods for a 3 year old x
I’ve just sat on the floor with our breakfast, her food on my plate. Like a littler picnic. She wasn’t interested. Won’t even drink the water in her cup. I’m out of ideas, she will put every toy in her mouth, but no food.
@Katie Davies maybe a few days break then to let her reset. Let her see you eating throughout the day and enjoying food, hopefully she’ll take interest again after a while 🤞🏻x
@Katie Davies alternatively, not sure how much sweet items (I.e. cakes, jam, biscuits) you’ve introduced but they might spark an interest. I held off with my first for a long time because I thought she shouldn’t be having them and was trying to promote health etc. When she came up with an egg allergy the dietician was baffled that I hadn’t given her cake before her 1st birthday! x
Hiya, try simple steamed purees like sweet potato, carrot, courgettes, papaya, banana, apple, pears, boiled rice+ yellow lentil... Also, try eating the same food to encourage them x
