Social work or Education

So I’m based in NY, and idk if I should do masters in Social work or Education? I love both, but in the next 3 years, I plan on relocating to Cleveland, Ohio. Anyone knows which of these two have more job opportunities in Ohio? I’d like to know!

I can’t say much about opportunities in Ohio but I think it ultimately depends on what job/ type of job you’d like to have. Social work is very broad and you have so many different fields to choose from.

I agree with the other comment that it really depends on what you want to do. But you will likely have more options with a masters in social work. I’m a teacher and for me getting a masters in education would be pointless. I would get paid a tiny bit more but it does not open anymore opportunities unless I want to be a principal (which I 10000% do not).

@Kim Okay. I wanted to know job opportunities for those two careers in Ohio only.

@Haley Ohio only

I feel like Master's in education is either for people entering the profession who don't have a Bachelor's in some type of education OR someone wanting to become a principal. The only other thing I could see doing with it is a teaching coach if you're interested in a district level job where you're helping teachers teach better. I was a high school teacher and I got my Master's in theater so I could teach English (Bachelor's in English Education), Public Speaking, and Drama. Completely unrelated but opened doors for me (I don't use the degree to teach now but I'm involved in community theater and use it there) All that to say, pick the one that opens new job opportunities. I'd go Social Work
