How would you feel if your MILs new partner had been in prison for drug dealing weed? (recently)

Trust your gut. If you feel like something is off, or don't want your children around them, then do what you need to do. You're only doing what's best for your children. People do change & he may not be involved in that anymore - but I also would be cautious.

My friends partner went to prison for dealing cocaine, I didn’t meet him until after he’d come out and I would never have guessed he did time inside if she hadn’t told me. I would trust him with my kids no problem, he’s a completely different person now than when he was in prison. Honestly I’d trust your gut on this one

@Emma well I did think maybe it was just a mistake but then she said she's met some of his old inmates and they're actually really nice! 😳 So he's obviously still keeping company with criminals or ex criminals so that sent up another red flag! Like he can't have very good morals and I used to work in a prison so I know full well how charming they can be to manipulate people in to doing what they want or getting their way! So my heads falling off now. I think it's maybe ok to socialise with him but never going to feel happy leaving the kids with them both

@Rachael this was my first thought but as I say, it kind of caused concerns that he's still hanging around with people he met inside who could be guilty of all sorts!

I wouldn’t leave my kid with anyone whose new boyfriend was going to be around. The man could be a pediatrician, I don’t give a rubber duck.

@🍄‍🟫🍄 they have never been left at her house yet anyway, she's only ever watched my daughter once on her own for an hour whilst I took my son to an appointment and that before wed even met him. I'm just thinking in future if she is going to be with him a long time and yes, I'd have to know him very well before that would even be considered but now my guard is up if he has such low morals 🤷🏼‍♀️
