Zyrtec Long Term

My 2 year old- almost 3 year old has been taking kids zytrec for maybe 3 months now and I noticed his allergies are so much better/less. Doctor said he is fine to take daily if helps. I was just wondering if people with older children have noticed any long term negative effects from their kid taking zytrec? Thanks in advance!

Idk if this helps or not but when my sister was little (22 now) she took Zyrtec every day for at least two years. And then her pediatrician told my mom just to use it as needed for seasonal allergies. My sister hasn’t had any issues though when she got older and hasn’t needed any medications for allergies.

@MacKenzie Yes, this is good info. Thank you!

I currently take Zyrtec for my allergies. Been taking it for over 5 years. I have found that my allergies aren't as bad, but Also Zyrtec does work better with daily use.

@Lisa I also take Zyrtec daily. I just didn't start taking it daily until I was older so was curious/debating if it was too young for my toddler to start every day or if I should try it seasonly, but who knows when that would actually be depending on the person, right? Haha. I may be overthinking it.
