Named after my favorite place

My husband joking suggested we name our kid (first name) Ari (middle name) Zona because I love arizona so much and want to live there one day. That's also where my husband is from (and likely where the baby was made šŸ˜…) and i liked it unironically, but we found out it's a boy and now I'm thinking I like the name Arizona Scott (dad's and grandpa's name) . Is it silly or cute?

i love it!!!!

Iā€™m from AZ as well!!

Honestly, ā€œzonaā€ in a few languages doesnā€™t have the best definition. I LOVE Arizona, especially for a boy.

@Alexa wait pls tell me what zona means in other languages šŸ˜…

In French it means Shingles, like the herpes zoster virus. In Hebrew it means prostitute but in modern language it had taken on a more derogatory statement like SOB in English Most languages it means zone but with an anatomical or bodily connotation (not inherently bad at all) For russian speakers it is colloquially used as ā€œprisonā€

I actually like Ari for a boy. I know a boy with that name as well.

I think Ari or Zona or Arizona are really lovely first or middle names but I do not think you should go for having one as a first and one as middle name It seems like something they could be picked on for in the future, just have the full name or one or the other they really are beautiful Also Iā€™m not American Iā€™m British so maybe kids are nicer over there lol

We were actually planning to name our daughter Arizona.

We are considering one of our favorite places as a middle name so I like it! Arizona is a cool name
