Am I being dramatic?

Literally as I type this, I am cooking my toddler dinner and my mil can see me cooking my child dinner. She’s now proceeded to feed my toddler a whole bag of chips?? Like can’t she see I’m literally making her dinner right now… She’s going to be too full to eat dinner now 😒 am I right to be annoyed?

I feel like they do it on purpose!

Yeah it’s super annoying. My grandma does that too but she has early dementia lol so I usually will just say “don’t let him have too many, I’m making his dinner” or “oh no, don’t give him any chips. His food is almost ready”

You’re right to be annoyed only if you actually said “hey MIL I would really like it if she didn’t eat chips right now cause her tummy will be too full to eat her dinner” and she said too bad and did it anyways. But if you didn’t say anything and you’re assuming she’s making connections in her brain that she may not be making, then I wouldn’t say you’re being dramatic but I would say you’re being passive aggressive. If something bothers you say so, you’re mama and not everybody has awful intentions they just may not be thinking on your level

some of ya'll have horrible MILs 🥴😕

My ass would have walked over, grabbed the chips and my child. I would put her in the baby carrier and kept making dinner.

My husband did the same thing yesterday 🫠 luckily he was still interested in dinner

Did you tell her to stop?

@Sabrina (Bean) I did tell my mil that I was making her dinner and she was in the kitchen with me when I was cooking so she could clearly see what I was doing. It’s just common sense in my opinion to not go and feed my toddler something else? 🤔

@Dana Lew I didn’t tell my mil directly but I went up to my toddler while she was sitting with her and I told my toddler that we’re going to save our tummy for dinner because mummy’s cooking for dinner for you right now
