Christening - Protestant & Catholic mix

Me and my husband aren’t religious and had a humanist ceremony when we got married (he’s Protestant and I’m Catholic). I’m thinking of getting my daughter christened now because my friends and families children are all christened and I don’t want my daughter to be the odd one out and I want her to go to a Catholic school. I know it sounds weird and maybe the wrong reason although I did enjoy growing up catholic and liked the early teachings but fell away from all religion as I got older. Does anyone know how I could go about getting her christened if we had the humanist ceremony and he’s Protestant?

You can get them christened regardless of how you were married / your husband religion. You probably have to talk to your priest/parish you want them to join. My sisters children are from a mixed relationship & she had her children christened catholic, they arent married & two of the 4 godparents were also not catholic, i think they stated at least one godparent for each child had to be catholic. I do think it can be down to the parish priest / rules tho x

I know its not exactly what youre asking, but we had a humanist wedding and did a humanist naming day ceremony for our daughter and it was lovely, we grew up catholic but have no religious views now, but I did appreciate my catholic education and the pastoral care and due to where we live she will probably go to a catholic school, being baptised is no longer a requirement just so you know x
