Baby doesn't need it at 4 months, so if you don't want to then follow your gut! 4 months was the recommendation back in the day but now it's 6 months.
I highly recommend 6. Studies show advantages in babies only having milk 6m compare to shorter! Also they need to be able to sit so that the guts work well enough
It's worthwhile checking this out, it will help you decide if you baby is ready or not.. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEjGhJjzbni/?igsh=MTQ4MjRhbGQ3ZXBmbg==
They say only if she can hold her neck up. Otherwise wait until 6 months. My daughter is 4.5 months old now and the doctor said no
I highly recommend the book Milk to Meals - it’ll give you a great overview and confidence to introduce solids. The information you’ve been given re timing and what foods to introduce is very outdated unfortunately
I've always waited until 6 months with mine. Also I can't believe a dr would suggest that if she can't sit up or hold her neck properly. Trust your gut, and maybe see a different Dr in future. You know your child best, don't do anything that you aren't 100 comfortable doing!
