You could get a second hand one?
I know a lot of people say no but I SWEAR by mine. It gives a whole different meaning to peace of mind. When my baby girl caught RSV at 2 months it reassured us that her oxygen levels were safe. As well as letting us track her sleep habits. If you do the full bundle the camera has sensors on it for temperature and air quality in the nursery as well. It is pricey but it is also HSA/FSA approved. That is how we got ours.
I did a lot of reading with my first and decided it wasn't worth it. There were too many incorrect reports creating a false sense of security.
I absolutely love mine!! I wouldnt ever go without it and im currently saving to get the plus one with the bigger sock, after my LO got Bronchitis i couldnt sleep i was so worried about his breathing after getting the owlet i slept alot easier knowing it would warn me! I've only ever had 1 false alarm with it, and that's just because it wasn't on correctly. I know there were cheaper alternatives out there, but i thought if i bought them and didn't like it, it was wasted money anyway, so i just went for the owlet, and 100% would get again for future kids
I would recommend the Snuza Hero MD. It’s recommended by The Lullaby Trust too and is cheaper and more reliable (based on reviews) than the Owlet
We had one and never used it. Used cameras so we could always see them breathing in their sleep
I got it on fb marketplace for half the price and it saved me from being overly anxious
They have a £100 off this weekend, if you buy the bundle with the cam. I love mine and I’ve never had any issues or false alarms.
If you get a second hand one don't get the dream sock 2, owlet made them redundant. You can't hook it up to the app or hook up the base to internet at all. No monitoring whatsoever with it now.
I wouldn’t unless you have a NICU baby. They give more false alarms than peace of mind.
I wish I’d just got one when my little one was a newborn. I was sooo stressed.
I’m also thinking of getting it
I was always semi conscious and we contact nap.
Best thing I ever brought… sleep is worth the money. It also detected low oxygen when we had bronchitis which ended up in a trip to A&E and the readings were correct with the monitor at A&E so can really vouch for it 🙏🏻

So worth the money, used with both of mine and gave me peace of mind xxx
@Siera I never had a false alarm and used it for both my children up to a year old x
I decided it wasn’t worth the anxiety. I also felt like by not having technology to help, I became very aware of his breathing patterns and what his normal was and that helped us bond 🥰
We were given a snuzzahero by health visitors when we were under the CONI scheme after we had a PICU stay on ventilator at 11 days old due to RSV. We purchased an owlet sock but it just wouldn’t set up correctly so sent it back. The snuzzahero is approved by lullaby trust and much more affordable 🙂
I have epilepsy and I was petrified with my daughter because she is my first and everything was if you do this your baby will die etc. I have loved it. I bought it with the camera, she's 11 months now, my anxiety about SIDs has gone now but I now use it to see when she's really asleep etc
So I do have the owlet sock my lo is now 9 months, it made me sleep so much better however it did make me really jumpy when I was out constantly checking her because I didn’t have the sock on so it has it benefits but defo that side of me was so worried when I was out.. im a lot better now than I was but I didn’t really think that bit through 🤦🏼♀️
My experience is this; it was always going off for false alarms, idk if I didn’t have it on right or what, I did like it if I could get it to work properly BUT why I’d be hesitant now is that It emits EMR (electromagnetic radiation) even though it’s low, it would make me soo nervous but maybe I’m just crazy. You decide for yourself and what’s best :)
You have raised a baby already, trust your gut and repeat being the awesome mother that you are. Save your money. I think it may make your anxiety worse
I started using one when our little boy moved into his own room for peace of mind. Iv never had a false alarm, and for me it’s worth the money. Il probably stop using it when he is one. Good for sleep data too. It doesn’t work via radiation as someone here has commented it’s essentially a pulse oximeter (uses red light) like what they use in hospitals and GP surgeries to measure your oxygen and heart rate so totally safe for baby. At the end of the day it’s your choice and you will get a wide range of opinion on these things.
Owlet has confirmed that it does work via radio frequency. While it be low, Same as baby monitor in which we use, so I’m not entirely against but it is fact. OP, you can do your own research.
if you want hun there’s a cheaper version of the owlet sock called SenseU the reviews are not ever too bad at all and almost half the price. But if you want the best for your baby and get that tingling feeling you need extra protection you might just have to get the owletttt
