What does a heathy scrotum look like?

I’m googling and am only getting medical diagrams.

I mean is there something wrong that you’re wondering? It should just be healthy and look good. If it looks weird then see a doctor

@Gabrielle his dr said they were high up now at his last appointment. I didn’t know I thought they looked normal and they had said they were descended when he was first seen. They look like a raisin; not as small as one like the size of a grape but soft, semiotical and wrinkly.

Are you seeing something that shouldn't be there? Are you seeing discoloration? What are you seeing?

How old. They’re supposed to be more high up it’s about if they can be pulled down. When checked. I think if they stay up during puberty that’s when doctors step in

@Erica they are the size of a small grape but looks like a raisin. No discoloration but they are symmetrical. His dr said they were high up and they didn’t come down during a warm bath. They were descended earlier though.

@Gabrielle 9 months. There were descended when he was a newborn and nothing was said at any other appointment until now.

If one is smaller than the other, that's a concern! My son had one quite swollen and large, which can be normal as they can still communicate (that's what they call it when fluid moves from inside the body to the testicles) but his other one was the size of a pea. Which is where the Dr's were concerned. Took about 5 months to hear from the specialist and then a couple months from that, but he had to get the smaller one surgically removed as it twisted in utero, and died.

@Alisha oh gosh that’s a little scary. 😅 will ghat cause fertility issues later?

Possibly, wont know for sure until he trys to start having children once hes older, but they fixed the other one in place so it can not twist. So that's good.

They typically won't descend too too much because he hasn't gone through puberty. If his doctor hasn't brought up any concern I wouldn't be concerned about it. From the way you describe them, they don't sound abnormal. If they cause your baby any pain or discomfort or if you are concerned, I would ask your baby's doctor.

My husband has one testicle higher than the other and we have fertility issues because of it. The urologist suspects it’s warmer and therefore not making any sperm. It was a miracle we conceived our son (he was put on meds to help our chances but they were still very low). I asked if we could lower it / have a surgery and the doctor said not as adults nor because it’s in the scrotum. They would have if it was still up inside him as a kid. Our son is only 7.5m and can’t say I’ve inspected them myself but his doctor hasn’t said anything about them yet. I don’t have much advice. Just sharing our experience as adults. Hopefully they move? Maybe he was just cold?

@Alisha will he have to go through surgery?

@Gabrielle as i said above he had surgery to remove one, and fix the other one in place. For the future they have said if he wants to, he can have a prosthetic testicle put in, once he's about 14.

@Alisha that’s really good!

@Erica when I clean them he doesn’t react at all. So that’s good
