Autism mums
Are there any autism mums out there who could lend me some advice. I've been suspecting my little boy is autistic for a long time now and I'm feeling super anxious about him being misunderstood when he starts school. I think I'll be contacting the Dr's regarding my concerns as the heath visitor pretty much abandoned us. But I'm worried I'm gonna be dismissed as an anxious mum
Hey Rhian, I’m currently int he referral proceeds now with my 4 year old. If you have concerns then defo speak to his teachers also and get their input as this helps massively when trying to get help via the NHS. The referral process is long and quite frustrating to be honest but I think to tackle concerns early before he gets into a stricter school schedule is super beneficial. At this age the schools seem to be super invested in providing support which is amazing to help you and your little lad gage what support areas would be best for him as he grows. It’s an anxious time I know but honestly it’s the best things to go with gut and push for a proper assessment ❤️
