Urinary Incontinence during 2nd pregnancy

Hi ladies, So I suffered a bit of incontinence post partum with my first. Nothing major, just noticed I couldn’t hold it as well when I laughed, sneezed etc than before pregnancy. Kept meaning to do pelvic floor exercises and get it checked but didn’t have the time. Fast forward to my second pregnancy - and it’s gotten so bad! It’s not light leakage anymore, If I sneeze I will actually pee myself. Enough to go completely through a liner. I wear a pad all the time and am starting to get anxiety about being out in public for long periods of time. To make matters worse, last night I wet the bed which I’ve never done before (as an adult). Husband was great about it and tried to make me laugh as we changed the sheets over at 4am 😭😳 but I’m pretty worried and starting to feel pretty depressed about it. Anyone else experienced it this bad before? Is this normal? I’m only 23 weeks ☹️

Poor mumma! I wouldn't say it's "normal", but it does happen quite a lot, especially during subsequent pregnancies. Women just don't talk about it much, unfortunately. There is nothing to be ashamed of! But the fear of leaving the house for longer periods is totally understandable. Try to see a specialised women's physiotherapist through your GP or midwife (at hospital possibly for free through Medicare). It's really important and also the best time (during pregnancy when there is more pressure on the pelvis) to do your exercises now! You don't want to be stuck with incontinence for years after birth. Good luck 🤞 sending a virtual hug :)

I was the same, a bit with first but really bad with second. Peed myself all the time…my second is now 5 months and everything is back to normal . I haven’t made any extra special effort to do exercises either although I should have….but same as you no time!!! :) I think it depends where the baby is laying and possible worsens with each pregnancy. But nobody talks about it!
