Metformin

If you’re on metformin, are you likely to be called in early? I had an elective section last time which was booked at 39 weeks. Just wondering if they’ll go earlier this time round because I’m on metformin. I honestly don’t mind but might change my mat leave date! Thank you! x

Following! As I’m on metformin was told I could go naturally and section would be booked in for term + 4 which I was surprised about!! but now I’m on insulin so I’m not sure if that changes things! X

I’m on metformin (one a day at night) and have a review on Wednesday (already suspect they will up the dose!) At this point I’ve been told no intervention for date or type of delivery.

I was on Metformin and was schedule for an induction at 37 weeks but that was more due to the drop off of weight on babies scans, I was told as long as you're managing to keep your bloods under control they don't tend to bring it forward, but you are likely to be induced 39/40 weeks and won't be allowed to go over full term. That's my experience though I'm sure every doctor/hospital is different ☺️

Thank you! Baby was measuring big last time which is maybe why it was brought forward. Got all my growth scans booked so assume it’ll be based on that!

I was on metformin. I was able to go 40+4 before suggesting an induction. But that was due to the size of my baby measuring huge. When I asked about being induced earlier, they only suggested sweeps for me as the Diabeties was controlled well with the tablets xxx

I was told I wouldn’t be allowed past 38 weeks

I’m on metformin max dose and insulin 5+ times a day I’ve been told they will induce me at 37 weeks if my sugars are all over the place, I had my 20month old at 36 weeks but that we due to diabetes and pre-eclampsia setting in fast , I think I’ll have this baby between 36/37 weeks so I have about 5 to 6 weeks left unless he comes earlier x

Thank you! Maybe it’ll depend on what my sugars are doing as my pregnancy progresses
