Funded child care

Is anyone getting any funded child care? I currently have 2 under 2 a 15 m old and 2 month old, I’m not 100% sure when I’ll return to work if I’ll take an entire year it if I’ll go back when he’s 9m my question is my oldest turns 2 in January does anyone know anything about funded child care and when I can apply etc etc? Does it have to be a nursery or I can it be a childminder? I actually work in a nursery I feel like I should know this but the funding etc has always confused the life out of me! For reference I only will be working 18hrs a week so 3 days going 6hrs I don’t earn a whole lot and my partner currently isn’t working as he’s on disability after just recovering from cancer anyone know anything about where I stand with getting funded hours? I would love to return to work stress free about child care my youngest will most likely stay with my partner if he’s not back working at the time he’s also waiting on a hip replacement so it could take some time but I’d love for my older one to be in a childcare setting but if it’s not funded iv no idea how I’ll afford it Sorry for the long post just hoping someone can help

I’d have a look at the childcare choices website, you can enter all your income/hours of work etc and it will tell you what you are entitled Too and when and when to apply xx

Following as I also have a 15 month old and 2 month old

I think you should be eligible for at least 15 hours for the older one. Possibly 30 hours from sept but best to check here. Remember the funding is term time only so really it works out as about 11 hours a week. Childminders work out cheaper often but you need to ask if they accept funded hours and needs to be at their registered environment not your house. Little one should be eligible from the term after they are 9 months old. Assuming your baby was born in feb this year would be start of spring term 2026.…. But check you’re eligible here. https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working/check-youre-eligible
