It's to see if there is a genetic cause for autism in your child, I believe there are meant to certain chromosome abnormalities that are more likely to be picked up in a child with autism or other genetic diseases that are only found this way.

They just call it genetic testing, it's a blood test. We were offered it when my son received his official diagnosis, you don't have to accept but cause there is a family history in our case it was recommended by the paediatrician but it can take up to a year we were told.
The only genetic testing i know of which there could he more is the genesight test that tests for what medications work best for the body. What dna test are they recommending?
