MMR side effects

When do the side effects completely go from the MMR vaccine? I regret doing it now, LO has been living on paracetamol on and off for the last week. We’re 2 weeks post vaccine. Now he coughs, doesn’t eat, has a blocked nose and his neck is starting to swell. Just after getting rid of the rash and fever.

Following as we haven’t had our mmr yet as we did the other three separately 😕

My little girl was sick for weeks after her jabs too! ( Not sure if it’s was just a coincidence or not but it was awful!)

My lo just had a bit of a temperature at 10-11 days post vaccine (just in the evenings), which they say is related to MMR. She did go off her food a little, but she had a tooth come through around that same time (10 days post), which may have caused that bit. We're now 2.5 weeks past and she's fine again. But different babies will react differently and for different lengths of time. If you're worried, call your GP. He may have got a separate cold.

My little boy was sick for weeks post jabs too. He had the expected effects (e.g. fever ~1-2 weeks after) but afterwards picked up a cough/cold, chest infection and conjunctivitis. There could be a relationship to the jabs (immune system takes a hit > more susceptible to picking up other bugs), but there are just too many factors to say for sure! E.g. he was also settling into nursery at the time (germ-fest!) and there are also just loads of illnesses going round at the mo as we see on the news. If I were you I'd be tempted to get the neck swell checked out (sign of an infection maybe?), but please don't regret getting the jabs. Ultimately these things won't kill him. Getting measles etc could! Hope he feels better soon

Is it possible your little one just caught a cold? It's cold season. Practically every kid I know has had a terrible cold over the last few weeks, regardless of vaccines. Sometimes our confirmation bias leads us to want to believe something else caused it, but it's quite possible that unfortunately your little one just caught a cold at the same time. I hope they get well soon. It's horrible when they are sick xxx By the way, measles and mumps are on the rise in the UK, solely due to low vaccination rates. That's not an opinion, it's a correlated well documented fact backed by data. I promise you what your child has in cold symptoms is not a patch on what would happen if they contracted a serious disease. ❤️

My little girl has been miserable for two weeks since she had hers done ☹️ On and off temperature, super moany and clingy, and just generally not herself. It’s sad and also slightly frustrating 🙈

Yeah definitely about 2-2.5 weeks!

Yes definitely, mine too, she had a blotchy skin, measles like rash and temperature for 3 weeks! She went off food, lost weight, and very clingy. It takes a while but your bubba should feel fine.
