Lots of incidents at nursery

Since last week every day things were happening and today I got 6 incidents on the app, all the staff seemed done in and said it was a hard day with my boy. He’s either using things to whack other kids in the face, round the head etc, trying to bite. At home he has his moments but the majority of the time he is fine, he’s also fine with other kids at soft play etc. The nursery worker said it’s one specific little girl and I just don’t know what is causing his behaviour besides assuming he doesn’t like her. How can I tackle this? I’m worried nursery are going to say they can’t deal with him. He’s actually a really easy toddler but I think he’s testing the boundaries. I just don’t know how to sort this out. They are giving him thinking time but I don’t think he even understands that either and will get off the chair

I would introduce thinking time at home, so he has an understanding of what it is and why he’s being asked to sit x

We are going through similar at the moment. We had a good few days of signing incident forms as my son was constantly hitting, pushing and grabbing other children. It’s been tricky for me to discipline at home as he doesn’t do it at home (he doesn’t have siblings) and I don’t really want him doing it when we are out and about so I stay very close to him. We just talk a lot about gentle hands etc. and gradually he seems to be getting better. I think at this age they are testing boundaries and struggle to control their immediate response. Have trust in the nursery as I think they will do their best to correct him and gradually this should start to get through to him
