Car seat

Does anyone find that their little one's head falls forward when they're asleep in their car seat? My baby is 5 months and I had to stop a few times the other day as I was doing a pretty long journey and his head was slumped forward. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this please? 💛

Can you adjust the angle so they are tilted back more? Check your car seat instructions to see what adjustments are possible and recommended for their weight. Also, if you have head pads, it may be time to remove them.

I find i start to get head flop when the strap height needs adjusting. Check straps are coming from just behind / slightly above shoulder not below. As also mentioned see if you can tilt the seat angle / check if there's any inserts you should have removed. I would also if you can take the seat to the shop you bought it from and get. Fit check if possible

Id have the fit checked cos if the straps are not right they can flop. Should be in line with or no more than 2cm below their shoulder.

Thanks guys, I'll give all these a go!

Make sure it's a nappy to buckle

@Klaudia only nappy to buckle if its an infant seat..if its next size seat its bum to back

@Louise I presume its an infant carrier at 5 months

@Klaudia probably i was just saying in case. My little one was huge so he moved to a 0-1+ seat at 4 months old as he was well within weight and height limits. It was a from birth seat but requirements for that one is bum to back On the flip side my first used his infant carrier till he was nearly 2 as he was tiny!

@Louise I got so lost in the world of car seats ERF infant carriers, Swedish plus tests etc that I gave in and decided Swedish plus carrier and i will worry about the big ones in a year once I figured out this motherhood malarchy.

I bought my LO a neck pillow from Amazon. I read the reviews and parents used it for their newborns and 2 month olds. My LO sleeps comfortably with it, even my 7 Yr old likes it too...lol

I saw her head do this yesterday. I had to pull over. Second time she self corrected.

We put a towel in our old car seat to make the seat to a better angle...and then I purchased the Maxi Cosi Pria XL after seen my baby on my friends car how good it was

I had this issue and no matter what I did he slumped forward, I ended up buying a different car seat where he is more reclined which has worked a treat. I have found you can purchase strap to put over their forehead to stop this from happening too. Xx
