Omeprazole

My son has been on omeprazole since 3 weeks old, we were at hospital yesterday and found he was on the wrong dose for his weight and should be taking 8ml, wondering if anyone has experience of splitting the dose in half morning and evening and whether this is effective? They told us to do this. Also wondering if anyone knows whether the tablets that you dissolve are better or the liquid suspension he’s always been on the liquid which is a battle for him to take but we were given the dissolved tablets at hospital and he took them a lot better?

How big is ur little one now they are on 8ml my baby is still on 5ml n it's not working anymore. My baby started off on tablets n he absolutely hates taking them was gritty n bitty n tasted horrible wouldn't say the method of how they take it makes it anymore or less effective it'd be more the increase in dose but the important thing is which ever way ur baby prefers taking it if they take it easier with dissolvable pills then keep doing that x

@Willow my baby’s 12 lb 8 I had to go the hospital for them to look at changing the dose the gp hasn’t kept up with it unfortunately! How big is ur little one? Yeah I find the liquid is hard work to give him but I am only just starting on the tablets today properly so maybe it will be different x

My baby was 13lbs when he was put on it and only given 5ml. So weird ill defo chase that up he's definitely not 13lbs anymore x

@Willow yeah my baby was first on it at 3 weeks and he was only 8lb I think I’ll definitely check cos if it has stopped working that’s probably why x
