hey, it's totally normal to feel a bit anxious about weight gain during pregnancy, but honestly, your body is doing a lot right now, so try to be gentle with yourself! tbh, it’s best to focus on healthy eating and staying active like you are, rather than stressing about the scale, and yeah, dieting can be tricky since you wanna make sure baby gets all the nutrients they need. Just looked it up on the 'Heal Baby Care App' and here’s what it says: "It's completely understandable to feel concerned about weight gain during pregnancy, especially with a history of weight struggles. Gaining weight during pregnancy is normal, but it's important to focus on healthy habits rather than strict dieting. Instead of dieting, consider maintaining a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains
My son is 3 weeks old and I gained almost 50lbs and I’ve lost 30 so far. I have a hematoma from my c-section and the pain makes it tough to eat but I ate healthy during my pregnancy (just ate a LOT after the first trimester) and now I’m eating pretty normally for me, just not eating full amounts if the pain is horrible. I also didn’t move much my 3rd trimester because I was so uncomfortable and now just doing normal things for the little guy has me up and moving much more even with the hematoma. I’ve always been slim so gaining that much weight was hard for me, but I knew it was good for my son. I just kept telling myself I was doing it for him. I think eating healthy saved me (and I obviously had some junk - I craved sour worms and ice cream and ate both whenever I did) but my muscle memory kicked in and my body wanted to regulate as soon as I wasn’t pregnant. Just be kind to yourself!! You’re growing a whole person!
I gained almost 30 kg. I am a smaller woman myself so I was worried. Definitely do not diet. It's important to focus on healthy and nutritious foods for you and baby, but do not worry about the weight gain. I am only 23 I'm not extremely active but I would say more active than maybe the typical person. I also breastfed, but the weight came off effortlessly and I'd say it took at least 6 months to feel confident in my body again how I used to. I was always confident in the fact that I just had a baby and I thought I looked good in that sense. I did not diet after having my son either again, I was just focused on healthy and nutritional foods. Remember to just stay positive and take it day by day, oncethey start running around + just being so full of energy. That's when the rest of my weight truly was gone
We all gain weight in pregnancy. Plus the scale will reflect that you have another human in you! Just make sure you’re eating healthy, processed foods aren’t good for the baby. And you won’t gain extra fat but the baby will have enough energy to grow
I gained about 40-45lbs.. lost 15-20 when she was born So I was like 115-120 pre pregnancy and im 140-145 post partum... im not trying to lose only because I plan on a 2nd kid next year
I went from 10 stone 10 to 14 stone. So 3 stone 4. I’ve lost 2 stone 12 so far (11 months pp). Want to lose another stone (14lbs)
I’m 33+2 days and apart from my bump and boobs I haven’t gained any weight anywhere else on my body which I’m glad about because I struggle a lot with body confidence
Overall I’m in my final couple weeks of my first pregnancy and have gained a total of 40lbs = 18.14kg, started out at 140lbs = 63.5kg. Now my final weight being 180lbs = 81.65kg steadily over time. Dieting won’t do much of anything, depending on the diet it can harm the baby by restricting certain nutritional benefits. There’s a few things to avoid but there’s a lot of things you need to intake throughout the entire pregnancy. You’re providing nutrition for 2, one in which is growing rapidly and the other is growing something rapidly 😂 Although before and during pregnancy I do competitive swimming/competitive level practice since that’s what I’ve always done since my freshman year in HS. I eat whatever, whenever, however, only thing is all my cravings have been healthy and a lot of greasy unhealthy foods have been under the list of food aversions. I always felt like I was starving from my second trimester till currently. Everyone’s different, there’s so many factors that exist 😀
I gained 10kgs and I'm 11m pp Weighing 60kgs now. Haven't yet lost anything. Hoping the weight will drop once I return to work and become more active
If you want an exercise you could do instead, swimming is really good. Even just moving in water. It supports your joints and you're less likely to get injured. I put on about 8/9kgs but honestly didn't weigh myself much. My baby is 17 months now and I've only just started to lose any of it due to working with a PT. Don't beat yourself up about it, everyone's body deals with this differently your body is doing something incredible no matter how much weight you put on.
Had gestational diabetes, ate super healthy and was active last pregnancy & gained 50/60 lbs. This pregnancy, no gestational diabetes, less active ,20 weeks I've gained 10.
I gained about 18kg during my pregnancy. I also rock climbing, but I did continue that throughout my pregnancy (my midwife was fine with it as long as I was on top rope and not lead climbing/bouldering, but I have been climbing my whole life so I'm very comfortable with it-- not advocating to continue, just my experience!). I would not recommend dieting during pregnancy- you need all those nutrients! A majority of the weight it the baby/water/placenta that all weigh a good amount! I was back down to my prepregnancy weight by 6 weeks pp without any additional exercise besides walking the dog/short walks with baby.
