I’ve was diagnosed with early onset preeclampsia at 26/27 weeks. I’ve been staying in hospital ever since and have to stay until delivery. I get my blood pressure monitored every 4 hours and have to do CTGs twice a day. Over the weeks my blood pressure medication has had to be increased and decreased depending on how stable my BP is. I also have to do blood tests twice a week to check kidney and liver function and my platelet count. I get a growth scan every 2 weeks to monitor her growth as she is on the really small side due to my preeclampsia. I also get a scan once a week to measure the blood flow into the placenta. My blood tests and urine have always been okay and scans for blood flow to placenta have been fine, it’s just my BP that is high. Doctors have said I won’t be able to carry to 37 weeks and the plan is to deliver at 34 weeks.
@Emily oh my goodness, I hope all goes well for you and your little one, 🤍 Thank you for this information, that’s A lot to go through, I hope u r doing okay! So you have to stay in hospital 24/7 until you deliver? x
Thank you 🩷 Yeah I have to stay 24/7 until I deliver because preeclampsia can be so unstable. It can progress really quickly and you can become unwell suddenly. Luckily I’ve been okay, but my BP was fairly unstable at the beginning which is the main reason I got admitted to hospital. My BP is stable now but the doctors feel it’s safer for me to be in hospital so me and baby can be monitored. Not every hospital will make you stay 24/7, I think it depends on your symptoms and how far along you are when you get preeclampsia xx
Can't offer advice not had a second since, probably a good idea to speak to your doctor/ midwife
