Correct.
Yes
Yes. Just remember to claim your days as well. As I didn't until last week and now I'm waiting to be paid. I had my baby almost a month ago. 🤣
I haven’t applied yet as I’ve been on paid leave from work but am about to apply but my bub is 10months old. Does this mean I won’t get the payments now? I didn’t know I had to register within 56 days of birth 😭😭😭
Yes, unless you earn over the amount. But it’s like 350k per year. So should be totally fine
@Tess oh that’s such a relief 😮💨 Thank you sooo much! I’ve never been told you had to do it straight up, so was stressing when I saw that. Unfortunately I don’t earn over that amount 🤣 so I should be ok then - yay!!! 🙌
@Tess oh hang on…I thought you were answering me but your probably answering the posters question 🤦♀️😂
@Bec are you on maternity leave paid through work?
@Tess yeah definitely don’t earn near that but I wish! 🤣
@Anita yep claimed my days :)
Yes, my maternity leave through work has just ended and was about to start claiming the Centrelink ones now that my pay from work has ended.
@Bec Thats good! Unfortunately I’m not eligible for maternity leave through work
@Bec I’m pretty sure you were meant to have applied and then once approved, allocated the days to be taken/paid at a certain time. I’m not sure you’ll be able to get it backdated now 🫣
@Courtney oh no 😢 😭 This is so crap if this is the case 😢

@Bec from memory you have 2 years to claim the payment within so provided your claiming before Bub is 2 you should be okay. Just means by applying later you may have a period of no income from when your work leave ends till they assess and pay you
@Kala thank you sooo much! I was so worried I got googling, it appears the first parent has to claim within the first year of the babies life and if a second parent is claiming, they have until they are two. If I’ve read it correctly. So I’ll be getting onto that asap! I wish I could post the screenshot but don’t think there’s an option (I’m new to this app). Thanks again for the reassurance 😅
Yep
