Rotavirus help

My LG has suspected rotavirus caught from nursery. Any tips on how to manage it? She’s vomitting everything up solid or liquid, but feel like I have to persist with giving small bits of dry food like toast and keeping her hydrated with water. She seems so weak and this is day 2 for us. Any advice welcome and also if others have experience with rotavirus how long it took to get better. Thanks ❤️

I wouldnt worry about food, try small amounts of dioralyte like 1oz at a time every hour, to rest her stomach. My little one had a severe stomach bug when she was 5 months old and this really helped us and then after 2 days we were able to start building her up again.

@CeeCee thanks that helps 🙏 Did you find that dioralyte caused sickness at all to start with?

I dont think so but it would be hard to say as she was bringing up everything at that stage!

I second what CeeCee said! We had this a couple of weeks ago, and it was the worst. My husband and I caught it as well. We mainly focused on getting her to drink fluids and small amounts of food. Oatmeal, toast, rice, crackers. She stopped vomiting after day two, but her tummy was still sensitive for about a week or so after and would only finish breakfast and snack the rest of the day with no dinner. I hope she has a speedy recovery!

@Becca thanks 💚 did your LO sleep so much more, especially in the day? I’m struggling to know if I should be waking her as I know she needs her rest!
