Teeth brushing

Okay mamas, what magic tricks do you have to brush your toddlers teeth?? My guy will not let me in his mouth and I’m getting so worried. He just bites the brush and pulls away from me. Sometimes I can get the brush in there momentarily, but I can’t see what I’m doing to know if I’m even positioned on his teeth. I don’t know what to do. 😭😭 P.S. we’ve tried the angled Dr. browns brush that covers the front, back and bottoms. Doesn’t really help.

What works for us is letting her brush her own teeth while I brush mine.

I let my son play with toothbrush and he generally ends up brushing some. We also let him brush our teeth sometimes and he’s more receptive to us brushing his teeth that way

We have our first dentist appointment Tuesday so I’m hoping the dentist can give us some tricks too! I’ve heard that putting toothpaste on and letting the kiddo chew on the toothbrush is acceptable at this age though for now. It’s a struggle! We have a toothbrush song where he says “ahhhh” so I can get in his mouth but brushing the front teeth is such an issue for us!!

I read you're not really supposed to let them brush their own teeth till their like 5 or 6 or something crazy lol they're not gonna do a good job. I had this problem with my daughter and I just kept it as positive as possible while I forced myself in there. She cried and it was a fight for a while but eventually she got the message that it's going to happen whether she fights or not so eventually she got over it. When they start understanding more, you can promise to let them brush a little on their own once you're done

She thinks it’s so funny to watch me brush my teeth. So I brush mine at the same time. But if that doesn’t work…. The only way I can really get a good teeth brushing is by like leaning her head back kind of into the sink on her back and brushing them?
