It's a myth or was true for hair dye a long time ago that it seeped into your scalp and could cause baby harm through your blood but that's not true of modern dye or bleach. Beware of fumes if you take any precautions, do a patch test and wear a mask.
as long as you do a patch test it’s fine! the only reason some warn against it is because due to hormones, your hair could react differently (texture changes, it could snap, it could turn green etc) but that’s why they say to always do a patch test before every appointment as that’ll determine whether your hair can take it! it doesn’t harm baby whatsoever it’s just all about how your hair reacts xx
@Sinead a patch test is to check for allergies only. It would not determine whether the hair would snap or take to the colour properly.
@N 💞 i mean the test where they take your hair and test the dye on it to see if it snaps or breaks, i had that test done when i wanted to have highlights, idk what it’s called other than patch test?? but when i wanted highlights she took a strip of my hair at the consultation to test with bleach ☺️
@Sinead that’s a test cutting. It would help with condition but wouldn’t really show you how well the colour would take re pregnancy hormones
It’s fine, just make sure to have a patch test 48 hours prior.
