Sensory Diet

I've been reading about sensory diets and think my boy could really benefit from one as he bites and grabs a lot and it would be a good way to make sure we definitely get enough sensory activities in a day and the right kind too. But I have no idea where to start! Has anyone put one together for their kid? Any resources you'd recommend?

Hi hun! I actually have an emailed sensory pack from my son’s occupational therapist if you’d like me to send you it? Just looked & page 16 is where it starts to talk about sensory diets and how to frame them around your LO…but also goes through different sensory and sensory processing ideas too throughout xx

@Courtney oh that would be amazing! Thank you. I wanted him to see an OT but the children’s OT team here don’t see them for “just” sensory issues and he doesn’t have another diagnosis for this currently xx

@Rebecca yeah I completely get that. My son has a fair few services involved. OT saw him alongside his physio & SALT so that’s why we saw them 💛if you drop me a message with your email, I’ll forward it over to you ☺️ it’s not letting me add the file on here 🙈🫠xx

Hi. I have no idea what it is. Could you anyone please explain about it?

@Shruthi it's essentially a sensory routine, comprising of sensory activities tailored to your child and their sensory needs, that you would then do every day (or multiple times a day) to try and proactively meet their sensory needs.
