Husband eating all the food

I have to remind my husband continuously to not finish all the food or leave some for the kids lunch ect... I find it so annoying that I have to keep reminding him not to finish all the food in the house. It is so inconsiderate!

Could you make more food maybe? Enough for all. He might just eat as much as he need to and not just to annoyed youšŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

My ex husband used to do this it was horrible And during that time we didn’t have a lot of income and were using food stamps and food banks and wic And his mindset was just kinda like ā€œwell we’re not paying for this food, just got get some moreā€ I hated it so much he was so damn rude

@MariešŸ©µšŸ©·šŸ’š it's not necessary about making more food. If he likes something he would eat a whole pot and not consider others. It about no self control. I also work and try to manage the home, I don't have all day to continuously cook.

I often cook a big meal, but my husband eats whatever I portion him up. I usually then portion up some lunches for my little girl to freeze, then if there’s stuff left after this, I’ll let him know there’s leftovers up for grabs.

Try to talk to him then, I'm assuming this is not a new behaviour, was he like that before you marry him? Try to put aside a portion for him and let him know that it, he can't eat the other. Or let him make his own food.

I don’t have this issue, but mainly because my partner doesn’t really go in the kitchen. I portion all the meals and put away what is to be saved for another day. Sometimes he will ask for more and I will kindly tell him that it means he will have nothing for the next day that I’m saving it for.

I have this issue and people don’t seem to understand how infuriating it is… I go to make my daughter some porridge with some fruit, boom 🤯 he’s eaten EVERY piece of fruit in the house. Or I’ll go to make a sandwich and he’s eaten an entire loaf of bread… and he doesn’t see the issue 😤 or if I make too much food I’ll put leftovers in the fridge and he’ll eat those too. Just being greedy

@Cotswoldmama exactly this! I try to plan out food for the week to last us until the next shopping but he just finishes them all in one go. I keep telling him he can't just eat anyhow cos it has to last until the next shop and we have little kids that needs food options!

Yep same here! I buy all the food, and I only work part time so I try to make it last, but if he makes food he’ll use something silly like 4/5 chicken breasts when the recipe calls for 2! And it really makes me so angry!! That’s almost 3 more dinners I could have made with that! Food is so expensive!

I have the same issue but with my son. He'll eat everything and leave me nothing to pack in his little sister's lunch for school. It's so frustrating I now keep a bag of her snacks in my room hidden. I may put a lock on the fridge too

Same… you can make enough to feed a village and he’ll still manage to eat it all… or I’ll make enough to have leftovers for dinner the next day, because I wont have time after my long shift to cook a meal in time for dinner, and he eats those very leftovers for breakfast….. Even though there’s toast, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal etc… it’s almost purposefully done to force me to cook all day everyday even though I don’t have the time to. It’s very annoying and so unattractive.
