Painkillers in pregnancy

Hi I had to undergo the coronectomy of my wisdom tooth in my week 21 and was hoping the pain would subside in a day or 2. Its been 5 days of severe pain Taking Tylenol 500mg every 6 hours Sleep deprived and cranky. Anyone else who had any dental procedures during pregnancy or any other procedure or incident requiring them to take pain killers.. Any support is welcome Thank you! đź’•

You can take co-codamol in pregnancy (paracetamol and codeine) but you’ll need to stop taking it a few weeks before the baby is born. I was prescribed it by my GP for severe sciatica. You can also take ibuprofen and just stagger the doses so you get the benefit of some painkillers in your system every couple of hours.

i would contact your surgeon along with your OB to get information on medicine. everyones medical history is different and some medicines can be safe for some but not others.

@Sharon They prescribed be Percocet which 5mg oxycodone and 325mg tylnol But then gave me a paper of risks including still birth and life threatening complications with the baby Said take it only if u are dying Just surviving on Tylenol in the meantime

@Kanika Oxycodone does feel like the nuclear option when there are milder drugs available. Maybe speak to your doctor.

@Sharon K will ask my OB tomorrow then Thank you
