Tips for getting fluid into toddlers

He had a vomiting bug last Monday/tuesday and then went straight into teething the rest of the week & has had 3 teeth break through the gum in the past few days so has been completely off food and drink. I’m not too worried about food cause he is quite chunky and taking snacks rather than dinners but enough to keep him going. It’s the fluid intake I’m worried about. Won’t take milk, small sips of water only. Even tried apple juice, orange juice, squash etc which he is normally only allowed as a treat and he takes one sip and puts it down. Now his poop is really solid so I know he needs more liquids. I’ve even tried to give fruit pouches, yogurts, liquidy foods but nope he has no interest!! Please any other ideas for liquid intake?? Can we give toddlers anything for dehydration like those little sachets you can get?

Could you put some apple juice diluted with water in a syringe and give him some every so often?

Can you get things to make popsicles? We have some silicone squeeze ones, as well as the kind that are rigid with a plastic stick, and we make them with a bit of juice, or squash, or an electrolyte drink. The popsicle makes it feel like a treat, but it being ice doesn't stop it from being hydrating. Could also get the frubes/store brand yogurt tubes and freeze them and they feel like an ice cream one to them (my 5 year old and the little both love these)

@Rebecca that’s a really good idea thank you!!

@Elizabeth I may have to order some of those, I have got a small weaning one I used to put berries and things in for him to taste so I’ll see if he’ll use that today in the meantime!! Thanks!!

Jelly. It's our secret weapon when the kids are sick. So far no matter how sick they will not refuse jelly

You can give dioralyte in water if absolutely needed but talk to a dr first. Our boy had a bug and was a bit dehydrated afterwards so the dr recommended we use dioralyte. Pharmacist may also be able to advise. Our boy also wouldn’t drink water but he loved the dioralyte

Rooibos tea with honey!
