Yeah same @Lorna she isn’t too interested either. I’ve offered soft solid food but she just pushes it around her mouth and spits it out and won’t swallow. She will hold and eat those Melty sticks from Ella’s Kitchen though. She has one a day. I’ve tried the double spoon idea but she ends up wanting to hold both. Or the food I’ve tried to get into her mouth with the spoon I’m holding, she used the spoon she’s playing with and pulls it all back out again 🙈😂 Maybe I just need to keep preserving but it’s hard with so many tears.
Food at this age is for play/exploration, to get used to textures, flavors, etc.. It's not for nutrition. She's getting that from her formula/breastmilk. Sounds like she's doing exactly what she's supposed to be doing.
Try 3 spoons? And if you can reload them in between… some babies are hilarious with their attachment to spoons 😂 or give baby led weaning a go
I liked BLW, but if you want to stick with purées, I like adding the baby cereal enough to make the purées stick to the spoon so they have a better chance of getting it in their mouth. Though a warning is that does make it a bit messier to clean.
I give my little one a spoon to play with and then I have a separate spoon to feed him with. Usually distracts him long enough to get some food into him. I have to spoon feed too as he isn't really interested in putting the spoon into his mouth himself (same for BLW, he just mushes the food up in his hands)
