We were also told we’d find out at our 36 week appointment, got there and it was just to do consent forms etc. They rang us when I was 38 weeks for my section at 39+2. They won’t run out of slots as such, they just organise based on pregnancy risk, surgical risk and book people in/call in that order. The wait for your date feels sooooo long doesn’t it 🫠☹️
Ah see I’m 38+1 atm so fingers crossed I find out in the next few days 🥲 but they did say it might even be at 41 weeks which I’m praying it’s not! Thank you for the reassurance girls xx
I found out my date yesterday at 38+2. She will be arriving on Friday but I’m so scared and nervous as this is my first baby 🥹
@Katelyn💖 aw that’s so exciting though! But I can understand why you’re nervous, I feel the same and I don’t even have my date yet, it’s my first as well. Good luck 🩵
Oh this was me!! I only found out when I was 38 weeks +2 and I was in 5 days later.... its standard Usually your midwife knows how the hospital works out the elective (typically they have set days for them) so you can try and get an idea of days in the 39th week but never guaranteed I was adamant we would have an April fools baby but we ended up being booked in on the 31st March Like you said, you could go before then and the hospital will perform an emergency section but with the calmness of an elective ...and you'd be prioritised over those who have elected on that day - if that makes sense. Re the elective ... I was nervous as hell but on the day I was suddenly very calm and the whole procedure was tremendous. I'd highly recommend I'm 9 days PP and healing amazingly too. Hopefully you will have the positive experience most of us electives have x
