Help - Baby won't unlatch 😭
Been bedsharing with my 10 month old since he was born and since Christmas we've been in a good pattern of him sleeping in his bedside cot for the first stretch (often an amazing 4 to 6 hours!) and then coming unto bed and side lying feeding to sleep which has been working really well. Unfortunately for the last few weeks we've gone back to waking up every hour ish (we think possibly because of separation anxiety and maybe starting teething) so he's been in bed with us for the whole night to help us get more sleep. However he's started to stay latched the whole time, literally for hours on end and my boobs are so sore 😩 he stops drinking but if I unlatch him, even once he's in a deep sleep, he wakes up and cries immediately. I'm fine sleeping while he's in bed but find it really hard to sleep while he's latched so I'm completely exhausted and have no idea what to do 😭 has anyone been through anything similar and have any advice?
So ive had same problem with my baby around 10 months. What i tried doing is getting a pacifier that's more natural and kinda replicates the boob and once in deep sleep I will quickly unlatch then just as quickly pop the pacy in his mouth. That works for the most part. But yeah he tried doing that to me and I just can't stay on my side for that long it hurts my hip and lower back. I did that for prob a good month and then he went back to before sleeping long hours and not having to stay latched all night. He's 12 months old now and pretty much I have him latch at bedtime and he falls asleep and I unlatch and he stays asleep for the rest of the night now, thankfully.
