For the first 2 years of their life it’s crucial for brain development and overall health. When they turn 1 and can have cows milk you should give them full fat milk (blue top in the uk)
I’d do bone marrow for the nutrients and cook with butter or tallow but not feed them straight. Homemade bone broth is great too, lots of nutrients. But again I’d focus more on nutritious whole traditional foods with their natural fat content but not really try to add a bunch of extra fat to their food if that makes sense
I do keto usually, so I eat a lot of fat but I don't think I'd just be feeding my baby plain butter! I would definitely cook in butter or tallow etc and include that with the meal tho, whilst feeding foods that are naturally high in healthy fats like avocado salmon, pork belly, beef and definitely bone marrow!
Babies and children need a large amount of fats that can come from different sources. I don't know why they would give them just butter or tallow, though. And yes, they need saturated and unsaturated fats. Cow milk and human milk are high on saturated fats. Bone marrow is a great source of nutrients aside from the fats it contains. You can find more specific scholarly articles with google.
You can’t find the info here. I’ve been kicked off this platform in the past for sharing this exact information. Think of it like this. Whatever your body is made up of, encourage that intake
Fats are good. But you don’t need to give these exact fats to your baby. What you’re doing is just fine. Focus on food that already includes fat.
I’m not here to give specific“medical advise” but it’s time to consider critical thinking. Like, if our brains are mostly made of cholesterol, why are we limiting our intake. Just a thought…..
I would just talk to your child's pediatrician about this.
